About the Role

As the HR manager you play a vital role in supporting the business group and wider team leading them in the right direction. You will lead the operational and Strategic functions of the Human Resources (HR) department Co-ordinating with the Directors and the Senior Leadership team. The role will include developing recruitment and selection processes for the group, as well as supporting the CEO in hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff across the company.

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly concerning current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

  • Co-ordinates with the Company’s outsourced HR consultancy and provides support and guidance to internal HR administrators, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide employee internal development opportunities.

  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.


Performs other duties as assigned:

  • Manage relationships with Avensure.

  • Support and update the organization on all employee relations matters

  • Proactive support of the delivery of HR processes

  • Drive business performance

  • Build a strong relationship with the internal & external clients

  • Assess risk and identify gaps in employee relation processes

  • Facilitate the management team to bring the best solutions for employee retention and development

  • Design key job positions and succession plans

  • Challenge organizational structure and actively design improvements

  • Develop the HR team to increase competencies as HR Business Partners

  • Work across business disciplines to lead and influence change at a strategic level

  • Head up the operational function within the HR department

  • Provide support and guidance for managers and staff on HR issues including employment legislation.

  • To deputize for the Directors on HR matters where required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrable experience in working with and influencing boards.

  • Experience working with smaller enterprises and owner-managed companies.

  • Experience in M&A situations is desirable but not essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

  • Able to advise and work at a board level while also prepared to get his or her hands into operational tasks

About the Company

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Graduate, Freelance

Part-time hours: 24 per week

Contract Length: 12 - 24 months minimum

Salary: £34,345.13 - £65,638.25 per year
